Thanks to the recently passed Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) PA/NP providers can now also provide evidence based treatment for opioid addiction in 5 steps. Total course time: 24 hours.

STEP 1:

Click here to sign up for the in person portion(4 hours) of your course. 

    After you do that come back to this page and go to Step 2.

    STEP 2: 

    Start the online portion(4 hours) of your course now and your progress will be saved after each module.
     

    STEP 3: 

    Complete additional specialized training(16 hours) and your progress will be saved after each module.

      STEP 4:  

      Once you have finished the in person, online course, and additional specialized training, submit your Notice of Intent Form.

      Before starting this application, please make sure you have:

      • Your DEA Number
      • Your State Medical License Number
      • Your Training Certificate Information

       

      STEP 5:

      After you’ve completed Steps 1-4 above, PCSS-MAT will send you via email your certificate of completion for the 8 hour training and 16 hour additional specialized training.
      Email these to infobuprenorphine@samhsa.hhs.gov. 

      Within 45 days you will recieve your DEA X waiver.
