Are killed by the Opioid Epidemic
The Problem
% of ED Physicians Waivered
Emergency physicians have to obtain a DEA X waiver to be able to prescribe buprenorphine to patients in need and unsurprisingly this has led to just 1% of all ED physicians nationwide having this waiver.
Emergency Departments have become an important point of care for patients with opioid use disorder often serving their primary healthcare needs, in addition, to offering overdose reversal and attention to injuries related to substance use.
The Answer
% of ED Physicians Waivered
At Massachusetts General Hospital 95% of all emergency physicians now have their DEA X waivers thanks to our 3 phase approach. This approach is now being used at the state level with our first state partner called Get Waivered Texas
Our Team
The 3 Phase Approach
We leverage insights from the field of behavioral economics to help emergency departments, hospitals, and state/local government to stem the opioid crisis by:
- Helping physicians Get Waivered
- Creating easy to use ED initiated buprenorphine protocols
- Developing nudges that will help spur the quick adoption of these new protocols
